Everyone involved with "Faded Love" should have known this by now, so it makes no sense to me that they chose this sample for a fancy electro-pop song when the original source material is a fun, party song. idiot. Samson Savill de Jong: The problem with taking a famous sample, especially a meme, especially sampling that meme, is that I can't really listen to that song without imagining a man in his room pumping your fist and lip-syncing (remember when that's all you had to do to go viral on the internet? People spill samples all the time against their sense of origin (the most famous being Eminem with "Stan"), but the production doesn't do enough to account for how happy the sample they chose is, and the distance between the intended tone and the result is too big (not so massive to go back and rework).[4]
